Overall great dining experience. Restaurant is small and packed with customers a little on the grounded l crowded side as you gotta dodge both customers, servers, and staff to get to the restroom. Tons of people with lots of energy. Come here if you're into the food experience less so if you're wanting a nice quiet dinner. (We were here for the food) Drinks are will balance and very tasty. We had the ponche and lychee melon Foods: Limon ceviche: ceviche was amazing. Red snapper, shrimp, squid and calamari were fantastic. Bay scallops were on the salty side but tasted very fresh. Garnish and sides on the dish complemented nicely. Pulpo: today was ok overall. Teleferic definitely does it better. Seasonings and flavor was good. But the execution of the octopus was a little off. It would seem like they took some pre boiled octopus from the fish market and slapped in on the grill for a few seconds. Grill flavor was fantastic but the texture was less pleasurable. Sides with the dish didn't really complement the octopus. Lengua: nice tender delicate pieces of tongue. Phenomenally seasoned duty garnish to add a little flare and change of pallet. Mash potatoes really stood out. Flavor was very rich and robust. Not like a typical buttery mash, rather as of it was served with a side of roast beef with ajous. Makes me think they used a touch of roast beef tallow to make it. Fried colliflower: tasted very good with the mayo complimenting the colliflower. Texture was perfect as well. It's fried so it better be good. This was the least exciting in terms of presentation but tasted good. Seafood Piella: taste and presentation was phenomenal. So the seafood was perfectly cooked. Rice was well spiced and will seasoned. All elements of the dish balanced nicely. My only criticism would be that there were no crispy bits of Minard on the bottom of the rice against the pan. Mild complaint as it tastes fantastic.
Wow! We are blown away and we wished we would have found this place much much sooner. The ceviche was fantastic, the pork belly flavorful, the fish beautifully seasoned and fried, and the lomo was delicious! Our server Kristen was fantastic and she made our first experience here memorable. The cocktails are also super good. Portions are really great. The music was a vibe.
One of the best restaurants in the East Bay for Peruvian cuisine. The food, service, and atmosphere were all very good for going out on a Saturday night. It's a lively and loud space, but it makes it fun and exciting to be in. The dining area has a dark and rustic look to it and is pretty clean, even for an extremely busy night. That being said, do make sure that you get a reservation before coming to the restaurant, as it is very popular. The place has some great quality food, which is a bit more of the pricey end, but you're paying for that quality. Make sure you try the chicken, as it is what they're known for. The drinks are also pretty good, although I felt that they did short me on the alcohol for the price. The bar itself has a wide selection of liquors and a pretty good beer and wine list. Overall, an exciting place to get some great Peruvian food.
This place was beyond my expectations food and ambience was magnificent. Took my daughter to celebrate her bday. Overall service was great except for a delayed on one of our plate order while others were almost done with their food. I really recommend this restaurant. I think I will be going there again.
We enjoyed a very fresh and tasty Peruvian late lunch here on Sunday, and though they didn't have my favorite Peruvian beers, they did have a locally brewed Peruvian style lager that was very tasty. The Arroz Con Mariscos were some of the best I've had in recent years, rice not overcooked, and Jalea was also crisp and fresh. The Tres Leches for dessert and Peruvian coffee were in a word, perfect! Excellent staff!
